The plant Solidago virgaurea (Goldenrod) is a native Bulgarian herb, thriving in forests and dry meadows. The plant is gathered in the summer, while it is flowering. The plant contains specific natural components: flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol and their glycosides, astragalin and rutin), saponins, phenolic compounds, essential oils, terpenes and anthocyanidins.
